Start

To start Trackting SMART you need only a few minutes. Installation is simple and fast

Package content

Inside the package you will find:

  • the black Tracker
  • the red Tag (already equipped with battery and already associated with the Tracker is ready to use, you do not have to do anything)
  • the USB charging cable – the personal card with UID (unique code of your Tracker)
  • double-sided adhesive tape and clamps for attachment
  • spare parts kit: USB port protection grommet, CR2032 battery
1. Install the app "Trackting"

If you have an iPhone (iOS>11 version) click here – App Store

2. Create and activate your account on the app

Launch the App, click on Sign up and follow the instructions on the screen.
Your App account will be activated via the confirmation link sent to your email account.
If you already have got an account on the App because you have another Trackting device, you just have to add your new tracker in the Vehicles’ list (see the lower menu).

3. Pair your tracker

Go to Vechicles and click on Add device (+) and enter the UID code found on the back your your Tracker (black).

4. Charge your tracker
  • Remove the side rubber cover to free the micro USB socket located on the side (use a pin to help you to pull it out).
  • Connect the Tracker to a charger or a PC via the supplied micro USB cable.
  • Allow it charge until you see the green LED.

 

5. Perform the first localization

In order to get the first localization follow these simple steps:

  • Disconnect the Tracker from the charger.
  • Go outdoors with your vehicle and, holding the Tag with you, place the Tracker with the top (opposite the label) facing upwards.
  • Now leave the Tracker on the vehicle and move away with the Tag at least 30 metres.
  • You will receive a notificaton on your phone: Trackting SMART performed its first park event! Now open the app and see the position on the map.
6. Add your phone number

In case of theft Trackting SMART will call you to notify you. It is therefore critical to correctly enter and verify your phone number.

  • Open the Trackting App and go to the Account section and enter your phone number by selecting the correct country code (e.g., +39 Italy).
  • A new screen will open where you will have to enter the 4-digit pin code that will arrive to you via SMS within 5 minutes.
  • Immediately save the following alarm numbers +1 830 444 4666; +39 0721 176 0423; +31 970 102 40666; +44 7418 372710 as “Trackting Alarm” in your phonebook and set them as your favorite contacts so that they ring even when you have enabled Do Not Disturb mode. It is an automatic system: it is not enabled to receive phone calls. Do not call it, there is no operator!
  • When you receive the alarm call, you have to reject it with the red button on the phone. If you answered or voicemail was activated instead, you would have a maximum of 5 calls per month (notifications are unlimited, however).

NOTE

With some telephone operators, voicemail is automatically triggered even if you reject the call or do not answer it. In this case, one of the 5 monthly calls would be consumed.

7. Fix the tracker to your vehicle

Now the Tracker is ready to be placed on your vehicle: move it while also carrying the Tag (otherwise it goes into alarm).

Place the Tracker in your vehicle using the included double-sided adhesive tape or via the Smart Clip bracket (optional purchased separately), recommended for use on motorcycles. On cars, vans or RVs you can also simply place it under the seat or in the glove compartment.

The important thing is that the side with the label faces downward to allow proper reception of GPS satellites.

It should not be placed near heavy metal masses (e.g., the engine block) or near heat sources.

Tracking SMART is waterproof, but it is advisable to install it so that it is not submerged or otherwise protected from direct contact with liquids.

8. Get to know it to get the most out of it

If you need an additional tag

If you have bought an additional Tag for your Tracker, i.e. for family members using the same car, you must pair it with the Tracker from the App. Follow these simple steps as described here.

NOTE

The first Tag included in the package of Trackting SMART is already paired with the tracker, you do not have to perform any operation.
